Flight Delay Assistance Plus is an exclusive service that's included in Post Office Travel Insurance with our premier cover level. If your flight's delayed by two or more hours, it gives you free access to a LoungeKey™ airport lounge, where available. Or you can receive an instant cash payment, courtesy of us.
Just register online at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure time. Choose from the benefits available. Then, if your registered flight is delayed by two hours or more, we'll automatically issue your selected benefit. Please check our terms of use.
You can enjoy your benefit when a single delay of at least two hours is announced. It also applies if you're faced with several shorter, incremental delays that add up to the two-hour minimum.
You can only register for Flight Delay Assistance Plus through our self-service portal.
There is a maximum of up to 8 flights per person per policy. Flight Delay Assistance Plus is built to track almost all major commercial airline flights. But there are limitations when airlines or airports don't report data regularly.
You can register any flight where the airline accurately reports the announcement to FlightStats. If you try to register a flight that doesn't meet these conditions, the system will inform you of this and you won't be able to register.
Where the flight is departing from an airport with a lounge that's part of the LoungeKey network, you’ll be offered the choice of a lounge voucher or cash payout in the event of a delay.
Not every airport has a lounge. If this is the case the cash payment option will be selected for you.
Yes. You can include up to four additional passengers named on your Post Office Travel Insurance policy when you register. Make sure the names you register match those included on your flight booking or boarding passes exactly.
If you chose the lounge access benefit when registering your flight and you’re faced with a delay that qualifies, we’ll issue you a barcode. We’ll send this by SMS text or email, so make sure you’ve a mobile device to hand that can receive it. These messages are sent if:
