Make sure you have right cover

Ehic or Ghic alone aren't enough

You may have heard about the European Health Insurance Card (Ehic) or its replacement for UK citizens, the UK Global Health Insurance Card (Ghic). They give you some state-provided medical healthcare for free or a reduced cost if you're travelling in EU countries. But travel insurance will provide cover for much more, like cancellation, your luggage, and medical repatriation to the UK. Why not check out our policy for more details?

Credit card

Have cover with your bank or credit card?

You may think you have cover already. Perhaps because your bank or credit card includes it as a perk. But have a quick look at the policy to see if it gives you the cover you need. Always make sure you read the terms and conditions of any policy so that it is suitable to you and the trip you are taking. Also that you're not paying for something you don't need.

Medical conditions

Post Office Travel Insurance covers most pre-existing medical conditions. Get a quote today to see if we can cover you. If you have a serious pre-existing medical condition that Post Office Travel Insurance cannot offer cover for, the Money and Pensions Scheme (MaPS) have launched a directory listing companies that may be able to help you. The directory can be accessed by either clicking here or calling 0800 138 7777.
