It's easy to upgrade your cover
Need specific cover that's not included in our Annual Multi-trip policies as standard? For an extra premium you can add these extras to get the specific protection you want or must have, depending on the type of trip.
Trip Disruption cover (including Terrorism, Natural Catastrophe and Air Space disruption)
Holidays are meant for relaxing but outside factors can sometimes cause disruption and worry. This optional extra helps protect you from the impact of airspace disruption, natural catastrophes or terrorist acts on your travels.>>
Add extra coronavirus protection to the standard cover included in all our Travel Insurance policies. Includes missed departures, connections and unexpected costs due to Covid-19. Cutting short your trip, if those you stay or travel with test positive for the virus. >>
From smartphones and tablets to laptops, consoles and drones, give the gadgets essential for your trip the extra protection they need with our easy-to-add gadget cover.>>
If you’re going skiing or snowboarding, having specialist ski cover is mandatory. Winter sports carry much more risk and emergency costs to airlift you from a mountain can be high, so make sure you have cover that protects you on the piste. >>
If you're going on a cruise you'll need specialist specialist cover. Our Cruise Cover option protects you in the event of missed departure due to breakdown, lost baggage, falling ill on board, being confined to your cabin and more.>>
Just because you live with a medical condition it shouldn’t stop you seeing the world. And with the right travel insurance in place you can enjoy peace of mind on your adventures, just in case something unfortunate happens.
At Post Office, we cover most pre-existing conditions so get a quote to see if we can cover you. It’s important to declare upfront all your medical conditions and any medication you're taking.
If we can’t help and yours is a serious pre-existing medical condition, check the Money and Pensions Scheme (MaPS) directory of companies that may be able to help you. Or call 0800 138 7777.

What is Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance?
This is a type of policy that covers you for multiple trips within one year. Depending on your level of cover, there will be a limit* on how long each individual trip you take can be. Please check the policy wording for full details.
This is good for people who travel frequently and don’t want the expense of buying a new policy for each journey they take. Remember that if you travel to different parts of the world with each trip, you will need a policy that covers all of the areas you travel to.
What different cover levels are there for Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance?
We can offer you a choice of insurance at three different levels. Economy, Standard and Premier.
If you decide on a Premier policy you will be able to enjoy complimentary airport lounge access or a cash payment if your flight is delayed for one or more hours.<<
Why buy annual travel insurance rather than single trip travel insurance?
Buying an Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance policy may not be cheaper outright than a Single-trip-policy. But it can be more cost-effective – and therefore cheaper in the long run – because you can take as many trips as you like within the 365-period of insurance, in the UK or overseas. So if you like to travel and expect to do so more than once in a year, it’s worth considering multi-trip cover.
When does annual travel insurance start?
Cancellation cover starts from the start date that you apply to your policy and is shown on your policy certificate. The cover ends when you return to your home.
The period of insurance is for 12 months. In that time you’re covered for each trip you book and undertake within that period, up to the maximum trip duration for your chosen policy.
Can you cancel annual travel insurance?
You have a right to cancel a Post Office Travel Insurance policy up to 14 days from the date you receive the policy document or the renewal policy documentation for subsequent periods of insurance.
If you decide to exercise this cancellation right, you’ll be entitled to a refund of premium provided you have not started a trip to which the insurance applies and have not made or intend to make a claim.
When your 14-day cancellation period expires you continue to have the right to cancel at any time during the policy term by contacting us, pro-rata refunds are available subject to no claims having been made.
I’m a student. Can I get a discount?
Yes, you can. We’re pleased to partner with Student Beans to offer a student discount. To claim it simply log in with your Student Beans account. Or register for an account first if you don’t already have one, to verify you’re a student. You’ll be given a unique code to enter into the promotion box that appears when getting your travel insurance quote. The discount will be taken off the quote total.
If you've not already registered your policy, please enter your details and create a log in so that you can access it at any time.
