Optional Gadget Cover FAQs

What is Gadget Cover?

Gadget Cover provides an extra level of protection for technology you take on holiday with you. You can add it to a Travel Insurance policy to increase the amount of cover for a long list of gadgets you might want to take away.

Why add Gadget cover to your policy?

Standard travel insurance policies may not provide complete coverage for some of the devices you like to use. Should you lose your phone or tablet, for instance, then your standard cover might not pay out the full value of the item. Gadget Cover insures your tech up to a limit of £1,000 per policy (and an excess may apply).

What does the optional Gadget cover provide?

Gadget Cover offers protection for phones, tablets, laptops, games consoles (including hand-held devices), satnavs, activity trackers, smart watches, PDAs, drones and all of the accessories for these items. Read the policy wording for a complete list.

What about items on my home insurance?

You would only be covered for items on your home contents if you chose out of home cover, and even then your coverage might have a limit well below £1,000. If you have home contents cover, it is a good idea to check whether you have cover in place for gadgets you want to take on holiday and find out whether you need supplementary cover such as gadget insurance.
