How to switch to a new account – Current Account Switch Service (CASS)
To switch to a new account, you will need to open one with another bank or building society or nominate an existing one already open in your name.
Then you need to let your new bank or building society know that you wish to switch your Post Office Money Current Account across.
The new bank or building society will take care of everything by:
- Agreeing the date you want to make the switch.
- Moving your money to your new account
- Transferring your existing incoming and outgoing payment arrangements
- Asking us to close your old Post Office Money Current Account
The Current Account Switch Service makes switching from one bank or building society to another simple and stress-free. Over 99% of UK current accounts are covered by the Current Account Switch Service guarantee. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong with your switch, your new provider will refund any interest (paid or lost) or charges incurred on your old or new account as a result. The whole process will be handled by the bank or building society you are switching to. If you have any questions or concerns, just ask your new provider.
