How far will your Swiss francs go?

  • With leading resorts like Verbier and Zermat as well as some of Europe’s highest peaks, it’s not surprising that snow enthusiasts the world over descend on (or ascend up) Switzerland every year

  • Aside from the snow sports, Switzerland is also known for its private banking sector and world-leading private schools

  • All of this together does not a cheap country make. That said, it’s possible to do a Swiss holiday without breaking the bank by saving where possible, if that’s your aim

  • Try buying food and drink at local supermarkets and preparing it yourself. Avoiding expenses like ski school if you don’t need them. Taking your own equipment if you have it. Choosing your accommodation carefully can all help stay on-piste where your budget’s concerned

  • And of course, there’s more to Switzerland than skiing, Toblerones and cuckoo clocks. There are the beautiful cities of Geneva, Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lucerne, Lausanne… For a small country, Switzerland packs a punch with its notable towns
