Some common questions


Do I need a customs label?

Yes, if you’re sending a parcel outside of the EU. Some services also require extra documentation for EU destinations. For Parcelforce Worldwide globalexpress you’ll need to fill in a customs pack even if you’re sending items within the EU.

Do I need to sign to confirm that my post doesn’t contain any restricted items?

Yes. You’ll need to do this when sending items overseas using any of our international express post services. See a list of restricted and prohibited items.

 

Am I legally responsible for the information on the declaration?

Yes. Under Customs Law, the sender is legally responsible for the information on the declaration. So it’s in your own interest to make sure you completely it accurately and in full. Have questions? Just ask a member of staff in-branch.

 

Will I be compensated for loss or damage?

Yes, but remember the amount of compensation we’ll pay out differs according to the service you choose.

  • Parcelforce Worldwide globalexpress: up to £200
  • Parcelforce Worldwide globalpriority: up to £100

For both services, you’ve the option to buy extra cover up to the value of £2,500.

 

Do some countries have their own rules for what can and can’t be sent by post?

Yes, they do. It’s important to check the item you’re sending is allowed in the destination country so we’ll pay compensation in the event of loss or damage.
