Where to buy your rod fishing licence
You can buy a new rod fishing licence online or by phone. Please contact the Environment Agency’s fishing licence service.
The decision, made by the Environment Agency (EA), follows a decline in over-the-counter sales over the last decade. Licences sold through our branches now only account for a small percentage of sales, with many customers already choosing to buy their licences digitally. The Environment Agency intends to reinvest any savings back into the fisheries service.
From January 2023 you can buy your licence in two ways:
Licences bought through Post Office will be valid until their expiry date.
If you have any queries about this change, please contact the Environment Agency directly:
If you can’t get online to buy your rod fishing licence, you can call the Environment Agency’s telesales service from a land line.
