What is QuickCheck?

QuickCheck is a free eligibility checker that allows you to see whether or not you will be accepted for a Post Office Credit Card before you apply

It's straightforward to use

Just answer a few questions, then we'll perform a 'soft check' that’ll let you know if you'll be accepted when you apply for a credit card

It doesn't affect your credit score

You can see the 'soft check' on your credit file, but other lenders won't see that you've used QuickCheck, so it won't affect your credit score

It's quick and free

Once you've answered our questions, you'll get an answer within 60 seconds. Just pop your details in the tool and away you go

Representative example:

Assuming a credit limit of £1,200 and an interest rate on purchases of 34.94% p.a. variable, you will receive a 34.9% APR representative variable

Post Office credit card

Post Office Credit Card

19.9% to 34.9% (variable) range of APR depending on individual circumstances

  • £200 - £8,000 credit limit

  • You may be eligible for 0% on purchases for up to 12 months*

  • You may be eligible for 0% on balance transfers for up to 12 months (2.9% transfer fee)*

Why should I apply for a Post Office Credit Card?

  • Our credit card can be a way to make a balance transfer or pay for a one-off expense that’s larger than your normal outgoings. But lenders need to know that you’ll repay what you owe in a way that you can afford

  • Applying for a credit card and being declined can affect your credit score. But using QuickCheck before you apply doesn’t affect it, meaning that you are equipped with the information you need to apply with confidence

  • Our credit card could help you build your credit score. As long as you always make your monthly payments on time and stay within your credit limit your credit score will improve. Not doing so could harm it

  • Some purchases are protected. Our credit card can offer financial protection for your purchases, under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. If you buy something between £100 and £30,000 with your credit card and something goes wrong, you may be able to make a claim to either your supplier or your credit card provider
