Make sure you’ve packed and prepared your items in advance. Then pop into your nearest Post Office branch

Common questions

  • Yes, if you’re sending a parcel anywhere outside the UK, except if you’re sending from Northern Ireland to the EU. Some services also require extra documentation for EU destinations.

  • Yes. You’ll need to do this when sending items overseas using any of our international express post services. See our full list of restricted and prohibited items.

  • Yes. Under Customs Law, the sender is legally responsible for the information on the declaration. So, it’s in your own interest to make sure you completely it accurately and in full. Have questions? Just ask a member of staff in-branch.

  • Yes, they do. It’s important to check the item you’re sending is allowed in the destination country so we’ll pay compensation in the event of loss or damage.
