Post Office Card Accounts (POca)


You can continue to use our branches to access your Post Office Card Account


Service updates


You can continue to go into our branches and use our Post Office Card Account (POca) services as normal. A small number of branches have amended their hours or may be closed, but we want to reassure our customers that this only affects less that 10% of our entire network.

 

Before leaving home, you can use our Branch Finder to quickly check on the status of your local branch. To do so, click on the words "Branch Finder" above. On the new page, you can enter your postcode and then you will get a list of branches nearest to you. This will also inform you of closures, amended hours and services available.

 

You are still able to use all the POca services you’re used to in our branches.

You can continue to use our branches and ATM network to withdraw cash and check your balance.

What to do if you cannot reach a branch

You should not give your card and PIN to somebody else to us, however you can nominate someone you trust to become a Permanent Agent on your account.

This person will be given their own card and PIN to collect cash on your behalf. To nominate a Permanent Agent, please complete the ‘Permanent Agent access form’ (P6163), available from most Post Office branches. Alternatively you can call 03457 22 33 44 and ask to nominate an agent over the phone.

We are aiming to upgrade this service to be simpler and quicker. Please check back for more information soon.

Please note: You can ask someone to take the form to the Post Office on your behalf as long as the form is complete and has been signed by you.

What to do if you are shielding or self-isolating 

 

If you are not able to leave home (for example, if you’ve been asked to shield) and don’t have anyone nearby who can help you, then you can:

  • Contact the government department that pays you to discuss alternative methods to receive your money
  • Contact your local community hub to find support in your local area. To find your local community hub, visit https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-local-help and type in your postcode

Our first priority is the health and safety of our customers and colleagues. If you need to visit a branch, please observe all of the necessary social-distancing measures and any on-site requirements.

 

PHE advises washing your hands upon entering and leaving any environment outside of your home and practising good hygiene at all times.
