Common questions

  • Online delivery confirmation is available for 1st Class and 2nd Class small and medium parcels when you post at a Post Office branch.

Please note that online delivery confirmation is not available to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the BFPO.

You can track your post to confirm when your parcel’s been delivered or attempted to be delivered. Online delivery confirmation is not a tracked service. You can’t track your parcel through Royal Mail’s network but can check online to confirm it’s been delivered.

If you would like to track your item the entire way, then you might be interested in Special Delivery services.

  • If your parcel’s over the size or weight of a medium parcel, you’ll need to send it via Parcelforce Worldwide (up to a maximum of 30kg and maximum size of 2.5m and 5m length and girth combined).

Find out about Parcelforce Worldwide services.

  • Not everything fits neatly in a box, so we have slightly different rules for different-shaped parcels.

For rolled and cylinder-shaped items, the length of the item plus twice the diameter must not exceed 104cm. The greatest dimension should be no more than 90cm.

Here’s how to find out if it’s the right size:

    • Measure the length of the parcel
    • Measure the flat end of the parcel and double it
    • Add all those measurements together

If it all adds up to less than 104cm and weighs under 20kg, you should be able to post your parcel as a medium parcel. And take advantage of cheap parcel delivery.
