Saving stamps

Post Office® savings stamps have been replaced by the new Post Office® Budget Card

What has happened to Post Office® savings stamps?

Post Office® savings stamps have been replaced by the new Post Office® Budget Card. Find out how to get yourself a Post Office® Budget Card.

What can I do with my existing Savings Stamps?

If you currently have a collector’s card with savings stamps attached, you have two choices.

Either use the value on the collector’s card to pay for a bill, Post Office service or Vehicle Tax in the normal way.

Or open a Post Office® Budget Card and transfer the value of your stamps to your new Budget Card and continue saving to pay a household bill, Vehicle Tax or for a Post Office service.

How long have I got to use or transfer my existing Post Office Savings Stamps?

Until at least the 30th October 2010, we will continue to accept Post Office® savings stamps to pay for a bill, Post Office® service or Vehicle Tax.

We will also continue to transfer the value of stamps onto the Post Office® Budget Card, so you can continue saving towards your household bills and Vehicle Tax.

What happens after 30th October?

If you have not redeemed or exchanged your savings stamps by the 30th October 2010 expiry date, your local Post Office® branch will no longer be able to accept them.

Instead, we will ask you to send the stamps to a central Post Office® location where we will validate the stamps and arrange for their value to be returned to you in the form of a Post Office® payout letter.
