How it works

There are three levels of cover to choose from and anyone who has a van for private or business use and is looking for cover for Great Britain and Northern Ireland can apply.

Get a quote and buy online or over the phone paying with any major debit or credit card to get instant cover. You can also choose to pay monthly.

Add RAC Breakdown cover to your policy and get assistance on the roadside or at home plus a recovery service if your vehicle can’t be repaired by the road, onward travel assistance and a 24/7 helpline. 

Add Motor Legal Protection to help recover legal expenses up to £100,000 and uninsured losses. Claim compensation if you’re injured or killed or can’t use your vehicle. You also could claim for your policy excess and repair costs if you’re not at fault for an accident.

Breakdown Cover and Motor Legal Protection are just some of the optional extras available for you at an additional cost.

We’ll cover any goods vehicle up to the gross weight of 3.5 tonnes (3500Kg) that’s designed to carry goods, tools or supplies. We can't offer cover for vans that carry passengers such as buses or mini buses, or vehicles used as plant or machinery.

What’s not covered

  1.  Items listed in the General Exclusions and Your liability to third parties.
  2. Loss of use, wear and tear, depreciation, mechanical, electrical or electronic breakdown, or computer equipment failures, breakdowns or breakages.
  3. Loss or damages:
    (i)  arising from theft while the ignition keys of your van have been left in or on your van
    (ii)  resulting from pressure waves caused by aircraft or other flying devices that are travelling at or above the speed of sound
    (iii) caused directly or indirectly by fire if your van is equipped for cooking or heating food or drink
  4. Cover for driving abroad other than for compulsory Third Party liability insurance required to use the vehicle in the European Union.
  5. Damage to tyres caused by braking or by punctures, cuts or bursts.
  6. Loss of value following any repairs.
  7. Costs if your van is confiscated or destroyed under an order made by any government or public or local authority.
  8. Any more than the market value of your van at the time of the loss. Note: if we know that you are still paying for your van under a hire-purchase or leasing agreement, we make any payment due, to the owner described in that agreement.
  9. The first £75 of any replacement windscreen claim.
