How it works

There are three levels of cover to choose from – Basic, Classic and Premium – just decide which one is right for you.

Select the geographical areaUK – includes England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. Europe – encompasses the UK and all European Union countries including Iceland, Ireland, some former Soviet Union countries, islands in the Mediterranean, the Azores, the Canary Islands, Israel, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Madeira, but excluding any cover for Egypt and Turkey. Worldwide excluding USA, Canada and the Caribbean – includes UK, Europe, Asia, Australasia and South America, but excludes USA, Canada and the Caribbean countries. Worldwide including USA, Canada and the Caribbean – this covers all destinations worldwide. If you are travelling via the USA, Canada or the Caribbean on your way to another destination, then you may need to buy this cover. If you’re unsure, call 0800 294 2292. If you have a pre-existing medical condition or have had a serious illness then you’ll need to complete our Health Declaration questionnaire . Add extra cover

You can adjust your policy before purchase by adding extra cover or changing your excess. Choose from the following options, which are available with our Classic or Premium cover:

  1. Winter sports cover for up to 21 days for skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and off-piste skiing with a qualified instructor. This also includes extra protection for injury and damaged or stolen equipment.
  2. Hazardous activities cover for experiences like scuba diving, mountain biking and sea kayaking. See the full list of activities

  4. Extend your trip and take our 45 day cover option.

Important Volcanic Ash Cloud Notice:

Post Office Premium Travel Insurance policies provide cover for Delayed Departure and Abandonment claims arising from the closure of airspace caused by an Ash Cloud event. However, if the closure of airspace is public knowledge before you purchase Travel Insurance, cover will not be provided. Basic and Classic policies do not provide cover for airspace closure caused by Ash Cloud.
