Make sure you are properly prepared for your adventure overseas

You've worked out where you're going, sorted out the passport and the visas, and taken your vaccinations. So now you're ready to take on the world. Well, maybe not quite ready, if you haven't taken out travel insurance.

Backpacker insurance isn't a luxury

You might be tempted not to bother. Especially if you're travelling the world on a budget. But travel insurance is just as much an essential as your passport.

An accident abroad without cover? Ouch, that's painful

If you think it's worth saving a few pounds by not bothering with travel insurance, take our word, it's a lot, lot cheaper than having medical treatment when you're abroad. Because there's one thing worse than having a nasty accident on your travels.

And that's having a nasty accident without travel insurance.

Without adequate cover the costs soon add up

Economy or Super Economy

Although we think that no one can afford not to be insured when they travel around the world, we are aware that many backpackers are price conscious. So, with that in mind, we offer a choice of cover: Economy and Super Economy.

Either policy will cover you for up to 18 months. And you'll be able to return home up to three times for up to seven days, although you won't be covered by our insurance when you are in the UK. ^^

Whatever happens, we can make you feel a little better

Post Office Money® is one of the leading travel insurance providers in the UK. We're winners of the Best Travel Insurance Provider at the British Travel Awards for ten years in a row. †

And we've masses of experience in helping people in their travels all over the globe. So if you become unexpectedly ill when you're away, we'll be able to monitor the treatment you receive to ensure it's appropriate for you. Importantly, we'll also help to pay towards its cost.

You'll also be very grateful you took out travel insurance if essential items like passports, travel documents or luggage gets lost or stolen.

Cover from abseiling to shark diving *

We know that backpackers tend to be a little more adventurous than most holiday makers. So you'll be pleased to know we include lots of sporting activities in your cover.

From abseiling to gliding as a passenger – as long as you are with a qualified pilot – safari trekking on an organised tour and professionally supervised shark diving in a cage, we will cover you.

Our travel insurance even covers you when you play snooker, although we hate to think what sort of injury you might incur. If you're a fan of winter sports, we can add Winter Sports cover to your policy as an optional extra.

  • Winter Sports cover for skiing, ski run walking, snow boarding and skiing & snow boarding off piste within resort boundaries. This also includes extra protection for injury and damaged or stolen ski equipment and piste closure.
  • Excess waiver cover so you won't need to pay any part of any claims you make. In the event of an injury occurring as a result of voluntary Manual Work, excess waiver will not apply.

If your valuables get lost, damaged or stolen, we can help

It's not just medical cover we offer you either. If you are unfortunate enough to have your baggage or passport lost, damaged or stolen we can help by paying towards sorting out a replacement.

So from sharks to safaris and even snooker, make sure you are ready for whatever comes your way - take out Backpacker Travel Insurance with us now.

So why not use us as your travel insurance provider?

With our experience in helping thousands of people go on holiday all over the globe, you'll be in good hands with Post Office Money.
