To make it easier to send items abroad, Royal Mail have introduced a new international Large Letter format replicating the current UK Large Letter sizing.
An item being sent internationally that measures up to 353mm x 250mm, with a maximum thickness of 25mm and weight of up to 750g will now be classed as a Large Letter, rather than a Small Parcel.
Royal Mail has also extended the number of countries that provide International tracking and signature services.
International Tracked is now available to 39 destinations, including 6 new destinations: Israel, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea and Turkey.
International Tracked & Signed is now available to 53 destinations worldwide, with new destinations including Cyprus, Latvia, Spain and United Arab Emirates amongst others.
Stamp prices will rise by 1p, with a 1st Class letter (up to 100g) now 63p and 2nd Class now 54p. UK Large Letter prices start from 74p for 2nd Class and 95p for 1st Class, an increase of 1p and 2p respectively.
Parcelforce Worldwide have reduced the prices on their timed next day delivery services – express9, express10 and expressAM, whilst also freezing prices on their express24 and express48 services.
