Whether you already have an existing phone line or not, getting connected with us is easy.

Got a BT phone line?

 
  1. Check your line – you need to make sure you’ve actually got an existing BT line, check your phone line now (opens in a new window).
  2. Choose how you wish to apply -
    (i) online (opens in a new window)
    (ii) at your local Post Office® branch
    (iii) by phone 0800 092 0514
  3. Fast switching – Once you’ve placed your order we’ll take care of everything. Within two weeks we will seamlessly transfer your line (you can keep your current phone number) along with any existing call features to our Home Phone service.

Got a cable line or no phone line at all?

 
  1. Check your line - you need to make sure you’ve definitely not got a BT line. Check your phone line now (opens in a new window).
  2. Install or activate a new line – depending on your situation, we may have to install a new phone line or activate an old one. The standard cost for a new line is £112.34, subject to survey. However, for all orders placed from 01 April 2012 through to 20 May 2012, there will be no charge, subject to survey.
  3. Keep your number – we can usually do this if you’re moving from a non-BT or cable line, although it’s not always possible1.
  4. Add any call features – like call waiting and caller ID.
  5. Easy to apply – just call 0800 092 0514*.
  6. Fast switching – your new phone service could be ready in just five days.

0     Your order is completed 
1-2 We'll check your order and send you confirmation
by email or text message (if you’ve provided your
email address or mobile number)
2-3 You’ll get your ‘Welcome pack’. This includes your
Terms and Conditions, online account username
and the date your service will start
4-5 You’ll get your payment letter, confirming your
chosen payment method (includes a Direct Debit
mandate if you’ve chosen to pay this way). We'll 
also include your online account password in this
letter. If you are having a new line installed your
service could commence from day five
14 Your service will start. We’ll send you confirmation
by email or text message (if you’ve provided your
email address or mobile number)

1 NB In certain circumstances for example if you are transferring your service from a Cable provider a new line installation may be required. If you request to retain your existing phone number when placing this order with Post Office and the number transfer is delayed after your new line is provided you may also be entitled to claim compensation equivalent to 1 days line rental for each day delayed.  Please contact Customer Service on 0845 600 3210 for further information
