You can order up to £2,500 foreign currency or American Express Travellers Cheques, online (opens in a new window) up to 5 working days in advance.

Buying foreign currency from the Post Office® is commission-free, unless:

• you’re buying American Express Travellers Cheques in UK Pounds Sterling in which case a 1.5% commission applies (minimum £3, maximum £50)
  or
• you’re selling travellers cheques in UK Pounds Sterling and you do not have a receipt showing that you bought them from the Post Office®

You’ll have the choice of home delivery, or picking up in branch. You will need to bring a valid passport or photocard driving licence when collecting your order from branch. You can even select the date of delivery – within reason. You now have the convenience of ordering your foreign currency and having it delivered to your home on a Saturday for a small additional fee (£1.50).

The earliest they’ll be delivered will be:

• the next working day, for orders placed before 3.00pm on any working day
• in 2 working days, for orders placed after 3.00pm on any working day
• after 1.00pm on Tuesday, for orders placed at the weekend

Working days are Monday to Friday. Exceptions apply on Bank Holidays. An imprint of the card and your signature will be taken for our records.

We’ll happily buy back your left-over foreign currency notes and Travellers Cheques commission-free.

All you need is your Post Office® receipt as proof of purchase.
