Online Postage

Fast Drop is a new service available with Royal Mail Online Postage that helps you save time at the Post Office^®. Print your postage online then drop off your items at a dedicated Fast Drop counter saving you valuable time. In some of our larger branches we have dedicated positions to save you more time.

As part of the standard service you will automatically receive electronic notification of posting, which can also be sent to a nominated person eg the person you are posting the item to.
The service is only available in selected Post Office® branches, and is free of charge.

There are five simple steps to using Fast Drop:

1. When using Royal Mail Online Postage, select the Fast Drop option - this is available on a range of postal services. If you want to notify the person you are posting the item to, you just need to add their email address
2. When you print your postage a unique Fast Drop barcode will be printed on your mail item along with the delivery address
3. Attach the address information and barcode to your item
4. Print off the online handover form that lists your items being sent using Fast Drop
5. Take your items for posting and the online handover form to your nearest Fast Drop Post Office® branch. The items will be scanned and you (and the person you are sending to, if selected) will receive electronic notification of posting before 9am the following day.

The Fast Drop post by date is always the end of the next working day after you’ve made your purchase, so items should be posted within 24 hours of buying postage online. Fast Drop branches have a latest drop off time.
