If you have not activated your Post Office online banking PIN, please call our customer service team on 0345 266 8977.

Is there any charge for Mobile Banking?

We do not apply any addition charges for Mobile Banking however the standard fees and charges associated with your current account still apply. More information on these can be found in our charges explained brochure. Please contact your network provider for details of any mobile data usage charges specific to your network.

What do I need to log in to Mobile Banking?

The first time you log into the Post Office Current Account mobile app you will be asked for your existing online User ID, password information and 3 random digits from your PIN:

User ID: This is the same 8-digit number that you use to login to Online banking

Password information: This is the Contact Number and Date of birth that you provided when you first registered for online banking.

PIN: This is the same 6-digit number that you use to login to Online banking

On any occasion after this you will not be required to enter your User ID for this app.

How secure is Mobile Banking?

Post Office Current Account mobile app uses 128-bit encryption to code all information as it's exchanged. Even so you should maintain the following basic security processes:

  • Lock your phone or keypad
  • Don't share your login details with anyone
  • Never respond to texts that you haven't requested
  • Mobile Banking applications will only ever be made available via the Apple App Store and Google Play
  • Always log out when you are finished using the service

What do I do if I lose my mobile phone?

Firstly, you should always ensure that you lock your phone when it is not in use. As long as you have not shared your login details with anyone, nobody will be able to log into your account via your mobile phone. As an extra security measure you are automatically logged out of Mobile Banking after 5 minutes of inactivity.

If you want to suspend your mobile banking service please call us on 0345 266 8977.

Is my balance up to date?

Your account balance is identical to the balance available through online banking. This reflects the position at close of business on the previous working day, subject to any transactions that have not been applied to your account. This balance may be updated during the day as transactions (including recently lodged cheques being cleared) are presented but will not be confirmed until the next close of business. This balance does not include any overdraft facility available to you.

When will my money transfer be processed?

Payments that are requested before the daily cut-off time will be processed that working day. Payments that are requested after the daily cut-off time Monday to Friday, or at any time on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday will be processed on the next working day.

Cut-off time for United Kingdom is 4:30pm (GMT). Please refer to your ‘Guide to personal banking’ for further information.

How do I transfer money to my Post Office Savings account or pay my Post Office Credit Card bill?

All you need to do is set-up your Post Office Savings and Credit Card as a payee through Online Banking. Once this is done you can make a payment using the mobile app.

I need help, who can I contact?

Please call us on 0345 266 8977. Lines are open 8am - 10pm Monday through Friday, 8am - 6pm on Saturday and 10am - 5pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Other Account login

The Post Office Current Account mobile app will always use the first User ID entered as the primary account. To access another account from the device you can use the Other Account login link from the login screen. Using this feature will not change your mobile banking primary account, if you wish to change this you will need to re-install the app

What daily money transfer limits apply?

There is a transaction limit per working day of £20,000 for payments made on the Post Office Current Account mobile app. For added security, payments to Payees added using security code sent to your mobile phone are subject to a working day limit of £3,000.

Where payments are requested on, or scheduled for a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday, these payments will be processed on the next working day and will be subject to the limit for that working day.
