UK driving licences

1. Visit one of over 740 Post Office® branches that offers the premium service
2. Bring along your passport-size photo and ID (a current UK passport or proof that you’re entitled to a state retirement pension)
3. Fill in a UK driving licence application form and hand it in at the counter with your ID

With the premium service, we check your documents and if you hold a digital passport or entitlement to retirement pension we will give them back to you, where you hold a non digital passport, this will be sent to DVLA with your application and will be returned directly by DVLA at a later date. If the DVLA asks to see your original documents, you’ll need to use the standard UK driving licence application service instead (see below).

Visit your local Post Office® branch to pick up a UK driving licence application form (D1).

Send your completed application form to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AD with:

• original documents that confirm your identity
• a passport-size photo
• the application fee
